大正の中頃、浦幌町の山奥にあった一本のナラの大木の幹に乳房に似たコブがあり、この木にあるおばあさんが「孫のため、母親に乳を授けて下さい・・・｣と熱心に祈願したところ、その願いが叶ったんだそう！！これが“乳神信仰”の始まりです。その後、災害などにより御神木は倒れてしまったのですが、乳房のコブの部分が残った為、昭和30年頃から地元の「瀬多来神社」でおまつりするようになりました。

「乳神神社」は、乳授姫大神で“乳授け”“子宝”“安産”“病気平癒”“縁結び”の神様なんですよ～。正に女性の為の神様でしょ＾＾？縁結びから安産祈願までお願いが出来るなら、毎年訪れたくなりますよね！！道内からはもちろん、県外からも悩みを持った人たちが、毎年やってくるんだそうです。
