この「岩戸観音堂」はもともと、日本で2番目の有料自動車道路、小樽定山渓間自動車道の道路工事に命を捧げた多くの御霊を祀り、併せて“交通安全”を祈願して建立されたんだそう。
交通安全を祈願して建てられたものだったんですね。頑張って建設してくださった方達に感謝しなければいけません。

「岩戸観音堂」は、無人なのですが、洞窟の入り口に入場料を入れる箱が設置されているので、ちゃんと払っていざ中へ！！
本堂の中には、ガラスに囲まれた電動式の御神籤があります。電動式の御神籤なんて最新式ですよね～♪
そして、御神籤のお金100円を入れると、神社の中から可愛らしい巫女さんの人形が御神籤を近くまで持ってきてくれるという
